Parks and the Pandemic: Behaviors and Expectations
2022
In the last two years, several studies have been conducted to understand what the final result of the pandemic and the ripples it left could be. Health, consumer relations and psychology are some most commonly involved fields of knowledge in this challenge. However, this study specifically involves the impact of the pandemic on Brazilians’ relationship with parks. How did concerns related to the connection with nature and, especially, the relationship with parks operate in this new reality?
Is there a propensity for behaviors to change in this direction? The survey was conducted in Brazil’s ten main metropolitan regions, and these are some of the questions it tries to answer. The report provides information on post-pandemic expectations, the frequency of visits to natural and urban parks and the visitors’ perception of the quality of the park experiences while following social distancing and stricter health protocols.
