Brazilian Parks: Perceptions of the Public

2020

Brazilian Parks: Perceptions of the Public is a series of studies carried out by Semeia that aims to map the perceptions of Brazilians living in metropolitan regions of the country regarding their knowledge of and experiences with Brazilian parks, as well as their perception of the management models of these spaces.

The second edition of the study, launched in March 2020, included 1,198 people from the metropolitan areas of Brasília, Manaus, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and São Paulo. Data analysis for the report considered three dimensions: daily concerns and concerns related to public policies; perception of the parks; and perceptions about the adoption of new models of management for these areas. The survey also brings new components of analysis, such as people’s perception of the image of the country’s parks.
